_Bacteriolytic and antimycotic with a broad spectrum of activity_
COMPOSITION
_Active substances_
Dequalinium chloride, cinchocaine hydrochloride.

GALENICAL FORM AND AMOUNT OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCE PER UNIT
Each lozenge contains:
Dequalinium chloride 0.25 mg, cinchocaine hydrochloride 0.03 mg.
INDICATIONS / POSSIBILITIES FOR USE
Local treatment of acute painful inflammatory affections of the mouth
and throat like:
- gingivitis,
- ulcerative stomatitis, and aphthous stomatitis,
- tonsilitis,
- laryngitis,
- pharyngitis.
Decatylen is also recommended for treating bad breath.
Upon doctor or pharmacist recommendation, Decatylen may be used:
- in painful mixed infections of the mouth and throat;
- as adjuvant in angina catarrhalis; in angina lacunaris and Plaut -
Vincent’s angina;
- candidiasis.
The lozenges can be used after tonsillectomy and dental extractions
to facilitate healing.
POSOLOGY / METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral use. Adults and children _above the age of 12 years:_
Allow 1 lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth every 2 hours. After
the inflammatory symptoms have subsided, suck 1 lozenge every
4 hours.
_Children above the age of 4 years:_
Allow 1 lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth every 3 hours. After
the inflammatory symptoms have subsided, suck 1 lozenge every
4 hours.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to one ore more substances of the formulation.
The lozenges must not be used in case of known allergy to quaternary
ammonium compounds (for example benzalkonium chloride).
Contraindicated in case of confirmed or suspected pregnancy.
SPECIAL WARNINGS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
If used as indicated, no special precautionary measures must be
con si dered.
INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCTS AND OTHER FORMS
OF INTERACTION
The antibacterial activity of dequalinium is lowered by simultaneous
ap plication of anionic tensides, for example tooth paste.
