QUÉ ES BUPRENORFINA ACTAVIS Y PARA QUÉ SE UTILIZA Buprenorfina Actavis es un medicamento utilizado en la dependencia a opiáceos (narcóticos). Buprenorfina Actavis comprimidos sublinguales se utiliza como parte de un programa de tratamiento médico, social y psicológico para pacientes adictos a los opiáceos (narcóticos). Un comprimido sublingual es un comprimido que se coloca bajo la lengua y se deja que se disuelva. Su prescripción y control se realiza por médicos especializados en el tratamiento de la drogodependencia. El tratamiento con Buprenorfina Actavis comprimidos sublinguales está destinado a adultos y adolescentes mayores de 15 años de edad. 2. ANTES DE USAR BUPRENORFINA ACTAVIS NO USE BUPRENORFINA ACTAVIS - si es alérgico (hipersensible) a buprenorfina o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de Buprenorfina Actavis (ver la lista de los componentes en la sección 6). - si tiene problemas respiratorios graves. - si tiene problemas de hígado graves. - en caso de intoxicación con alcohol o si tiene _delirium tremens_ (los “temblores” y alucinaciones). QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION Each sublingual tablet contains 2 mg of buprenorphine (as buprenorphine hydrochloride). Excipient: Each tablet contains 43.9 mg of lactose monohydrate. CLINICAL PARTICULARS 4.1 THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS Substitution treatment for opioid drug dependence, within a framework of medical, social and psychological treatment. 4.2 POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION Treatment intended for use in adults and adolescents aged over 15 years who have agreed to be treated for addiction. When initiating buprenorphine treatment, the physician should be aware of the partial agonist profile of buprenorphine and that it can precipitate withdrawal in opioid-dependent patients. Prior to treatment induction, consideration should be given to the type of opioid dependence (i.e. long- or short-acting opioid), the time since last opioid use and the degree of opioid dependence. To avoid precipitating withdrawal, induction with buprenorphine should be undertaken when objective and clear signs of withdrawal are evident. Administration is sublingual.
