Net Contents: 20 mL 50 mL Directions for Use: Restraints: DO NOT USE in birds that may be used or processed for human consumption. DO NOT USE in birds that are producing or may in the future produce eggs that may be used or processed for human consumption. Contraindications: This product should not be used in animals with renal insufficiency, history of epilepsy, cardiovascular insufficiency, myocardial damage or cardiac arrhythmia. This product is contraindicated for maintenance of hypovolaemic animals (particularly haemorrhaging dogs) as greater myocardial oxygen debt is accumulated and cardiovascular parameters may rapidly deteriorate. This product is contraindicated for use in animals with cerebral trauma or intracranial lesions as the anaesthetic action of ketamine relies on functioning cerebral cortex. RLP APPROVED This product should not be used for major surgery in animals unless supplemented by gaseous or barbiturate anaesthetics or muscle relaxant agents. Precautions: Ketamine has been shown to cross the placenta, and depression of neonates may occur if Ketamine is used for induction of anaesthesia for caesarean section. Side Effects: Adverse effects during recovery can be reduced by the use of acetylpromazine or xylazine. Ketamine has been reported to cause seizures in dogs within 24 hours post-injection. Ketamine has been reported to cause convulsive seizures in some cats that receive ketamine at therapeutic doses. Ketamine causes the eyes of cats to remain open with dilated pupils.
