QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION
Each roundworm tablet contains Piperazine Citrate 500mg per tablet
Each tapeworm tablet contains Dichlorophen 500mg per tablet. Amaranth
(E123) 0.055mg per tablet

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Tablet
Roundworm – circular, biconvex, white tablets engraved on one side
with a
break line.
Tapeworm – circular, biconvex, pink tablets engraved on one side
with a
break line.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC GROUP:
Anthelmintics, Phenol derivatives, Incl, salicylanilides

Piperazine has anthelminthic properties, the action being to paralyse
the
roundworm, leading to its expulsion. Piperazine citrate is rapidly
absorbed
after oral administration, excreted in the urine and eliminated within
24 hours.
Piperazine
Dichlorophen possesses anticestodal properties and is effective
against
_Taenia spp_ and _Dipylidium spp_ but not against _Echionococcus spp_
tapeworms.

INDICATIONS FOR USE
For the treatment of roundworms (Ascarids) and tapeworms _Taenia spp_
and
_Dipylidium spp_ in cats and kittens over 6 months old

5.3
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
i.
Do not give Roundworm tablets and Tapeworm tablets on the same
day.
ii.
Do not repeat the treatment if vomiting occurs shortly after dosing.
iii.
Do not administer to animals weighing less than 1.25kg or under 6
months of age.
5.4
UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS, FREQUENCY AND SERIOUSNESS
If the animal is particularly sensitive, the following short term
effects may
occur after giving the tablets – occasional sickness or vomiting and
slight
transient loss of co-ordination including weakness of limbs and
unsteadiness,
in which case consult a veterinary surgeon.
