líquido suficiente, sem mastigar.
A duração do tratamento depende do tipo
e da gravidade da doença e é determina-
da pelo seu médico. Após uma terapia de
quatro semanas, o médico deve decidir
se são necessárias medidas terapêuticas
mais adicionais.
Erros durante o uso e
sobredosagem
Se a vitamina B6 for ingerida diariamen-
te em doses superiores a 1 g (equivalente
a 5 comprimidos de Vit-B-Denk) por mais
de 2 meses podem ocorrer lesões nervo-
sas. Por tanto, deve consultar-se um mé-
dico no caso de surgimento de distúrbios
sensoriais.
Nestes casos, a dosagem deve ser recon-
siderada e, se necessário, o tratamento
com Vit-B-Denk deve ser interrompido.
Se por alguma razão você não tomou a
dose correcta de Vit-B-Denk, tome so-
mente a dose normal quando você reco-
meçar. Não tente compensar duplicando
a dose que falhou. A interrupção prematu-
ra do tratamento pode motivar um even-
tual reaparecimento ou piorar os sinto-
mas da doença.
Efeitos secundários
Houve relatórios de casos isolados de
reacções de hipersensibilidade tais como
urticária, erupção cutânea e estado de
choque. Se você observar qualquer reac-
ção alérgica pare de tomar os comprimi-
dos e consulte o seu médico.
Farmacologia
VITAMINA B1 (TIAMINA)
A tiamina é fosforizada em pirofosfato de
tiamina (TPP) e trifosfato de tiamina (TTP)
biologicamente activos após a absorção
no organismo. Estes derivados activos
são coenzimas em reacções importantes
durante o metabolismo dos hidratos de
carbono. É uma coenzima de piruvato-de
carboxilase, 2-oxoglutarato-desidrogena-
se e transquetolase.
Foi provada a existência de um efeito an-
ti-nociceptivo para a vitamina B1 em estu-
dos com animais. A eficácia de altas doses
de vitamina B1 na encefalopatia de Wer-
nicke é considera como um indício para a
actividade desta vitamina no SNC.
VITAMINA B6 (PIRIDOXINA)
A vitamina B6 é activada pela fosforilação
e é uma coenzima no metabolismo não-

INDICATIONS

_Vit-B-Denk_ is used for the treatment of neurological system diseases
which are caused by a
proven deficiency of vitamine B1 and B6.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Allergy to thiamine hydrochloride (vitamine B1), pyridoxine
hydrochloride (vitamine B6) or to
any of the other ingredients. In case of known hypersensitivity to
thiamine _Vit-B-Denk_ should
only be administered orally under medical control and strictest
indication.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:
During pregnancy and lactation the recommended daily dose for vitamin
B1 is 1.5-1.7 mg and
for vitamin B6 2.4-2.6 mg. Until now, risks on the administration of
Vit-B-Denk are not known
if recommended doses are taken. There is no data available on the
administration of vitamin B1
or B6 in higher doses than the indicated daily requirement. Therefore,
Vit-B-Denk should only
be administered during pregnancy and lactation after careful
risk-benefit consideration by the

treating physician.
Vitamin B1 and vitamin B6 are excreted into breast-milk.
SIDE EFFECTS
There have been isolated reports of hypersensitivity reactions
(urticaria, exanthema and shock).
INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER PHARMACEUTICALS
Thiamine will be inactivated by 5-fluoruracil, since 5-fluoruracil
does competitively inhibit the
phosphorylation of thiamine to thiamine pyrophosphate.
