WHAT UPHADYL FORTE IS
USED FOR
This medicine is used to treat:
•
Co
ugh
•
Allergic disorders such as
itching, rashes, hives
•
Common cold, flu, runny
nose
HOW
UPHADYL
FORTE
WORKS
UPHADYL
FORTE
contains
four
active
ingredients which
work together to relieve coughs.
Diphenhydramine
is
an
antihistamine
and
suppresses
the
urge
to
cough
and
also
dries secretions in the nose and
chest.
Ammonium
chloride
is
an
expectorant
which
makes
coughing
up
phlegm
easier.
Trisodium
citrate
is
a
mucolytic,
an
agent
which
thins the phlegm.
Menthol
is
a
decongestant
which helps unblock the nose
and makes breathing easier. It
also has a cooling effect in the
mouth.

Do

take
UPHADYL
FORTE:
•
if you have an allergy to
any of the ingredient
s listed
at the end of this leaflet
•
you are taking a class of
medicine
known
as
'monoamine
oxidase
inhibitors' (MAOIs) (often
taken for depression.
•
If
your
child
is
below
2
years old
Do
not take this medicine after
the expiry date printed on the
pack or if the packaging is torn
or shows signs of tampering. If
it has expired or is damaged,
return it to your pharmacist for
disposal.
If you are not sure whether you
should
start
taking
this
medicine, talk to your doctor.

If your child is between 2-6
years
old,
you
can
only
use
Uphadyl
Forte
