Therapeutic indications:

The device transmits ultrasound energy into the human body to measure accoustic properties of bone that indicate overall bone health and fracture risk. The device uses 'Speed of Sound' (or SOS) in m/sec ultrasound waves. An ultrasound transducer delivers an ultrasound beam to an anatomical area of interest. A receiving transducer is used to analyse the resulting echoes to estimate bone mineral density. The system components include a voltage generator, a transmitting transducer, a receiving transducer and hardware and software for reception and processing of the received ultrasound signal.
