CRITICALLY IMPORTANT ANTIBIOTIC
ACTIVE CONSTITUENT
Each mL contains 200mg Tylosin Base (20% w/v). Also contains Benzyl
Alcohol < 5%.
INDICATIONS
Tylosin Base Injection is indicated in the treatment of systemic
infections caused by bacteria sensitive to
tylosin in cattle, calves, sheep, goats and pigs. Tyloject possesses a
wide range of antibiotic activity and is
active against gram positive bacteria including Staphylococci,
Streptococci, Corynebacteria spp. and
Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae (insidiosa). It is also active against
certain gram negative bacteria, e.g.
Campylobacter coli and certain spirochaetes.
CATTLE
Respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella multocida, Foot-rot
(necrotic pododermatitis) and diphtheria
caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum, metritis caused by
Corynebacterium pyogenes, and acute mastitis
caused by S. uberis and S. aureus.
SHEEP AND GOATS
The treatment of the early stages of the peracute and acute forms of
Contagious agalactia caused by
Mycoplasma agalactiae and Caprine pleuropneumonia caused by Mycoplasma
mycoides var capri (M.
capri).
PIGS
The treatment of porcine proliferative enteropathy associated with
Lawsonia intracellularis, erysipelas caused
by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, arthritis caused by Mycoplasma
hyosynoviae, and pneumonia caused by
Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
READ PACKAGE INSERT AND UNIT CARTON PRIOR TO USE
By intramuscular injection into the anterior half of the neck of pigs,
goats, sheep and cattle.
Also by slow intravenous injection in cattle only.
CATTLE
0.5–1mL/20kg bwt (5–10mg/kg) daily for up to 5 days
SHEEP AND GOATS
1mL/20kg bwt (10mg/kg) daily for up to 5 days
PIGS
0.5–1mL/20kg bwt (5–10mg/kg) daily for up to 3 days
