PRESERVATIVE: Benzalkonium Chloride Solution 50% 0.00033% w/w. NON-MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS: Petrolatum 98% w/w Mineral Oil 1% w/w THERAPEUTIC CLASSIFICATION AND DESCRIPTION: Tetracycline is a broad spectrum antibacterial agent with activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including obligate anaerobes. Tetracycline is well known to be efficacious against _Chlamydia_ , _Mycoplasma_ and _Rickettsia_ . INDICATIONS: As an aid for the antibiotic treatment of infectious conjunctivitis in cats and dogs when caused by organisms susceptible to tetracycline. Laboratory tests should be conducted, including _in vitro_ culturing and susceptibility tests on samples collected prior to treatment. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Properly cleanse the eye(s), removing any exudate, debris and foreign object before treating. Apply a thin layer over the cornea three (3) to four (4) times a day. To apply, insert the tip of the tube beneath the lower lid and express a small amount of the ointment into the conjunctival sac. Care should be taken not to contaminate the tip during administration. Treatment should be continued for two days after the eye(s) appear normal, or as recommended by the treating veterinarian. CAUTIONS: If infection does not respond to treatment in two to three days, the diagnosis and therapy should be re-evaluated. Itching, burning, or inflammation may occur in the animals that are hypersensitive to the product. If a reaction occurs, discontinue use of the product. As with any antibiotic preparation prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms including fungi.
