INDICATIONS:
CATTLE AND SHEEP: As an aid in the treatment of bacterial infections,
such as foot abscess, bacillary enteritis,
metritis, mastitis, septicemia accompanying acute mastitis and
shipping fever complex, and bacterial respiratory
infections, caused by bacteria susceptible to sulfathiazole and/or
sulfamethazine.
CALVES: As an aid in the treatment of the following conditions caused
by bacteria susceptible to sulfathiazole
and/or sulfamethazine: secondary infections in enteritis and bacterial
respiratory disease.
SWINE: As an aid in the treatment of the following conditions caused
by bacteria susceptible to sulfathiazole and/or
sulfamethazine: bacterial enteritis, acute mastitis, metritis, and
bacterial respiratory diseases.
HORSES: As an aid in the treatment of the following conditions caused
by bacteria susceptible to sulfathiazole
and/or sulfamethazine: strangles, acute bacterial infections,
bacterial enteritis, and many secondary bacterial
infections associated with respiratory virus infections.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
_To reduce the development of antimicrobial resistance and maintain
effectiveness, use this antibiotic prudently and _
_for the shortest duration required to achieve the desired clinical
outcome._
PREPARATION OF 12.5% SOLUTION: Dissolve 590 g (900 mL) in water to
make a total volume of 4.54 litres of solution
(graduated scoop enclosed).
DOSAGE: Administer as a drench, 1st day: 40 mL of 12.5% solution to
each 25 kg of body weight. 2nd day and
following days: one half of the above dosage.
