Date of revision WHAT IS SULBACIN IS USED FOR Sulbacin is used to treat stomach, skin and soft tissue, respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, genito-urinary infection. HOW SULBACIN WORKS SULBACIN contains sultamicillin, which kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall formation. BEFORE YOU USE SULBACIN _ _ _- When you must not use it _ Do not take SULBACIN if: - you are allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, or any other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Product Description) _ _ _-Before you start to use it _ Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are/have: - infectious mononucleosis (kissing disease), as it may cause skin rash or super infection - pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breast-feeding before using any medicine. Sulbacin can cross placental and secrete in breastmilk. Safety use in pregnancy and lactation has not been established, caution should be exercised when administered to a pregnancy or nursing woman. _-Taking other medications _ Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including any that you buy without a prescription from a pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop. Medications that may interact with Sulbacin are as following: Antigout medication: allopurinol, Probenecid Blood thinning medication Antibiotic: chloramphenicol, erythromycin, sulfonamides and tetracyclines Oral contraceptive Immunosuppressive medication: methotrexate Reagent: Benedict's reagent, Fehling's reagent and Clinitest.
