These directions form part of the label.
In accordance with the MEDICINES AND POISONS (SECTION 72) (REGISTERED
PESTICIDE STRYCHNINE ALKALOID) NOTICE 2018, issued under the Medicines
and
Poisons Act 2014, Strychnine Alkaloid can only be possessed and used
with the approval
of the Chief Executive Officers of the Western Australian Department
of Agriculture. Only
the Chief Executive Officer (or officers delegated in writing) can
approve the distribution of
Strychnine Alkaloid to other persons, subject to those persons having
received adequate
training. A formal assessment of risks to humans, domestic animals and
wildlife must
be undertaken before use is considered. Approved warning signs must be
displayed RLP APPROVED
prominently at all entrances to the property where strychnine is used
and at other strategic
points near the location of use, for the duration of use and for one
month thereafter.
Instructions for using strychnine alkaloid:
• Not to be used in domestic or home garden situations.
• All adjacent neighbours must be notified in writing at least 72
hours before use, with
details of the location and period of use.
