Cutaneous solution
1 NAME OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT
4 CLINICAL PARTICULARS
4.1 Therapeutic indications
Solcoderm is indicated for local treatment for such benign external
skin trauma as:
-_Verrucae vulgaris_; -_Verrucae plantares_;
4.2 Posology and method of administration
Posology: Solcoderm is intended exclusively for external use. The
first application of Solcoderm
should always be done by the physician, or respectively, medically
trained staff. In the following,
the appropriately instructed patient himself can perform the
application at home.
Solcoderm has the properties of an acidic solution, and it is
devitalising. Therefore, Solcoderm
should be applied strictly limited to the area covered by wart tissue.
If Solcoderm is spilled on
healthy skin it should be wiped-up immediately with a moistened swab.
In each pack of
Solcoderm there are two devices that should be used as an application
aid: The glass capillaries
are used to draw out the solution and for its application to the wart.
After application, the bevelled
ends of the plastic sticks shall be used to work the solution into the
wart tissue.
The number of warts treated at the same time should not exceed 2 -3,
and their total area
should not exceed 2 – 3 cm
2
. If more warts are to be treated several sessions at intervals of
approximately 4 weeks should take place to continue the treatment. For
each treatment a
freshly opened ampoule has to be used. The solution loses efficacy if
stored open for several
hours.
