Controls the brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for up to 26 weeks. TICK CONTROL l9g I Collar This collar has a length of 48 em and is most suited for small to medium breed dogs and those with a slender neck. SCALIBOR is a plastic collar impregnated with deltamethrin, a member of the synthetic pyrethroid (SP) class of insecticides and acaricides. The deltamethrin slowly releases from the collar for at least six months, and migrates over the body of the dog controlling paralysis ticks for up to 14 weeks and brown dog ticks for up to 26 weeks. The SCALIBOR collar is a sustained-release control product. It exerts best effect for the control of the named ticks 2-3 weeks after application. The collar should therefore be applied 2-3 weeks before the dog is likely to be exposed to infestation. Use of the SCALIBOR collar may not prevent tick attachment, as ticks are not killed immediately. In paralysis tick areas, daily searching of the entire body of the dog and.removal of any ticks is required with particular attention around the ears.
