Durée du traitement
Pour être efficace, cet antibiotique doit être utilisé
régulièrement
aux doses prescrites, et aussi longtemps que votre médecin vous
l'aura conseillé. La disparition de la fièvre ou de tout autre
symptôme ne signifie pas que vous êtes complètement guéri.
L’éventuelle impression de fatigue n’est pas due au traite-
ment antibiotique mais à l’infection elle-même.
Le fait de réduire ou de suspendre votre traitement serait
sans effet sur cette impression et retarderait votre guérison.

4.1
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
Indications
are
based
on
the
antibacterial
activity
and
the
pharmacokinetic
characteristics
of
this
medicinal product. Such indications take into consideration both the
clinical studies carried out with this
medicinal product as well as its place in the range of antibacterial
products currently available.
_THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT_
The indications are limited to acute, chronic or recurrent
stomatological infections:

Dental abscess, phlegmon, perimaxillary cellulitis, pericoronitis,

Gingivitis, stomatitis,

Periodontitis,

Parotiditis, submaxillitis.
_PREVENTIVE TREATMENT_
Preventive treatment of local infectious post-operative complications
of stomatological and dental
surgery.
Efficacy in the prevention of infectious endocarditis has not been
demonstrated.
It is important to take account official recommendations regarding the
adapted use of the
antibacterial products.
4.2
POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
_CURATIVE TREATMENT:_
_Adults_:

4 to 6 tablets daily in 2 to 3 divided doses with meals (i.e.: 3 to
4.5 MIU of spiramycin and 500 to
750 mg of metronidazole).

In severe cases, the dosage may be increased to 8 tablets daily.
_Children_:

Between 6 to 10 years: 2 tablets daily (i.e. 1.5 MIU of spiramycin and
250 mg of
metronidazole).

Between 10 to 15 years: 3 tablets daily (i.e. 2.25 MIU of spiramycin
and 375 mg of
metronidazole).

OF STOMATOLOGICAL AND DENTAL SURGERY:_
