WHAT _PRIME’S CIMETIDINE _IS USED FOR
It is used in the treatment of gastric ulcers,
ulcers caused by certain medicines,
gastroesophageal reflux disease and
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
HOW _PRIME’S CIMETIDINE _WORKS
_Prime’s Cimetidine_ belongs to a group of
medicines called H
_2_
-receptor antagonists
which act to decrease the natural
production of acid in the stomach.
BEFORE YOU USE _PRIME’S CIMETIDINE _
_- When you must not use it _
If you are allergic to _Prime’s Cimetidine _
_ _or other ingredients in it.

_- Before you start to use it _
- Consult the doctor before taking
_Prime’s Cimetidine ._
- If suffering or have suffered before
from kidney or liver disease.
- If there is a history of peptic ulser,
particularly if taking a non-steroidal
antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) e.g.:
aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac.
- If taking drugs or have an illness that
cause a fall in blood cell count.
- If middle aged or over, with new or
recently changed indigestion symptoms
(e.g.: stomach pain or discomfort,
heartburn), causes of symptoms such as
stomach cancer, should be excluded.

_- Taking other medicines _
_Prime’s Cimetidine _has been reported
to have interactions with many drugs.
Reduced dosage of some drugs, such as
cyclosporine, lignocaine, nifedipine,
phenytoin, suxamethonium, theophylline
and warfarin may be needed.
HOW TO USE _PRIME’S CIMETIDINE _
_- How much to use _
Active peptic ulcer: 800mg at bedtime
for at least 4 weeks. Maintenance:
400mg at bedtime for 6 months.
NSAID induced ulcers: 400mg twice
