Phoenix Xylazine 2% Injection (A0541) 22 July 2022 Text Label Immediate Container KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN FOR ANIMAL TREATMENT ONLY RESTRICTED VETERINARY MEDICINE PHOENIX XYLAZINE 2% INJECTION ACTIVE INGREDIENT: XYLAZINE (as hydrochloride) 20 mg/mL INDICATIONS: An analgesic, sedative and muscle relaxant for use in horses, deer, cattle, dogs and cats. 50 mL net READ THE ENTIRE LABEL BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT DOSAGE AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Horses 3.0 – 5.0 mL per 100 kg b.w. I.V. (slow) Deer 3.0 – 5.0 mL per 100 kg b.w. I.M. Cattle 0.25 – 1.5 mL per 100 kg b.w. I.M. Dogs 0.05 – 0.15 mL per kg b.w. I.M. Cats 0.15 mL per kg b.w. I.M. Injection to be given into the anterior half of the neck in food producing animals. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Shock, cardiac incompetence, late pregnancy and severe respiratory depression. ADVERSE EFFECTS: Xylazine may cause hypersensitivity reactions. Xylazine depresses thermoregulatory mechanisms and either hypothermia or hyperthermia is a possibility depending on ambient air temperatures. WITHHOLDING PERIODS: IT IS AN OFFENCE FOR USERS OF THIS PRODUCT TO CAUSE RESIDUES EXCEEDING THE RELEVANT MRL IN THE FOOD NOTICE: MAXIMUM RESIDUE LEVELS FOR AGRICULTURAL COMPOUNDS. MILK: Nil MEAT: Animals producing meat or offal for human consumption must not be sold for slaughter either during treatment or within 3 DAYS of the last treatment. WARNING: Causes mild skin irritation and serious eye irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Suspected of causing genetic defects and cancer. May cause damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. Wear protective gloves and wash hands thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.
