I. NAME OF PRODUCT
MEPTIN SYRUP 5μg/mL
II. DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT
MEPTIN Syrup is a colorless to yellowish, clear, slightly viscous
liquid. It has an orange odor
and sweet taste.
pH: 3.5 - 4.5
III. WHAT IS THE MEDICINE?
Meptin Syrup contains Procaterol Hydrochloride Hemihydrate as active
ingredient and Sodium
Benzoate, Ethyl p-Hydroxy Benzoate, Buthyl p-Hydroxy Benzoate,
Purified Sucrose, Anhydrous
Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Orange Essence, Dehydrated Ethanol and
Purified water as
excipients.
IV. STRENGTH OF THE MEDICINE
1 mL Meptin Syrup contains 5 mcg Procaterol Hydrochloride
V. WHAT IS THIS MEDICINE USED FOR?
Remission of various symptoms caused by respiratory obstructive
disturbance from the following
diseases:
bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema, acute
bronchitis, and asthmatoid
bronchitis.
VI. HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THIS MEDICINE?
The usual adult dosage is 50 μg of procaterol hydrochloride hydrate
(10 mL of MEPTIN Syrup
5μg/mL) once daily (at bed time) or twice daily (in the morning and
at bed time) by the oral route.
The dose for children 6 years of age or older is 25 μg of procaterol
hydrochloride hydrate (5 mL
of MEPTIN Syrup 5μg/mL) once daily (at bed time) or twice daily (in
the morning and at bed
time) by the oral route.
The dose for children younger than 6 years of age is 1.25 μg of
procaterol hydrochloride hydrate
(0.25 mL of MEPTIN Syrup 5μg/mL) per kg body weight twice daily (in
the morning and at bed
time) or three times daily (in the morning, in the early afternoon,
and at bed time) by the oral
route.
The dosage may be adjusted according to the patient's age and severity
of symptoms.

Meptin Syrup should not be taken by Patients with a histor
