Clear, light yellow liquid.
COMPOSITION:
Each 5 ml syrup contains: Lysozyme Hydrochloride
25.0 mg
Potassium Sorbate (as preservative) 1.9 mg
Sodium Benzoate (as preservative)
0.12 mg
THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES:
LYSOME Syrup is a preparation containing a purified Lysozyme
Hydrochloride derived from egg white.
Lysozyme is a basic protein composed of 129 amino acids of 18
different types with a molecular weight of about 14,300. Lysozy me
Hydrochloride occurs as
a white, crystalline powder. It has no odour and has a sweet taste. It
is very soluble in water.
Lysozyme is widely distributed in tears, nasal discharge, saliva, etc.
in the case of humans. It has been discovered to poss ess
anti-inflammatory, tissue
repairing, mucopuslysing and anti-hemorrhagic actions, etc. Thus,
Lysozyme which has various actions plays an important role in the
living body as an
enzyme responsible for the physiological protective mechanism.
Clinically, Lysozyme has been used in expectation of its
anti-inflammatory, expectorant and anti-hemorrhagic effects, etc. in
many fields.
INDICATIONS
:
Chronic paranasal sinusitis.
Difficulty of expectoration caused by respiratory diseases.
Haemorrhage during and after operations (dental, urological fields)
CONTRAINDICATIONS
:
Contraindicated in patients who have shown hypersensitivity to
Lysozyme or patients whose family members have a history of al lergic
reactions to
Lysozyme.
SIDE EFFECTS / ADVERSE REACTIONS
:
1)
Shock
Since Lysozyme may cause shock symptoms, patients taking Lysozyme
should be observed closely. If pallor facial, coldness of limbs, blood
press ure
dropped, cyanosis or unconsciousness occurred, discontinue the
administration and appropriate treatment should be given.
2)
Hypersensitivity
May cause hypersensitivity reactions, such as eruption or redness.
Discontinue the medication if these symptoms occur.
3)
Digestive System
