Contains inactivated _Leptospira interrogans_ serovars Pomona and
Hardjo antigens in a serum-free
medium.
USES
For the active immunisation of cattle, sheep, deer and pigs against
Leptospirosis caused by _Leptospira _
_interrogans _serovars Pomona and Hardjo and _Leptospira
borgpetersenii_ serovar Hardjo.
The vaccination of healthy cattle before infection will prevent the
urinary shedding for leptospires for at
least 12 months thereby preventing transmission to humans and animals.
Vaccination will not alter the
shedding status of already infected animals.
As with all vaccines, efficacy is based on the immune response of
animals to vaccination. In any animal
population there may be a small number of individuals which fail to
respond fully to vaccination.
Successful vaccination depends upon correct storage and administration
of the vaccine together with the
animal's ability to respond. The level of exposure to challenge,
management issues, health status of
animal, genetic constitution, intercurrent infection, age, nutritional
status, concurrent drug therapy and
stress all affects the level of protection from the disease.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Shake well before use.
Administer a 2mL dose by subcutaneous injection in the anterior half
of the neck with normal aseptic
precautions.
VACCINATION PROGRAMME
If vaccination status is unknown, animals should either be tested as
free from Leptospirosis, or be treated
with an appropriate antibiotic
