VC OFFSHORE
is a medium strength thin film antifouling, which has been
specifically formulated to reduce surface friction and drag thus
increasing boat speed. It is ideal for the perform ance
conscious racing
yachtperson or high speed powercraft owner.
RESTRAINT: DO NOT USE ON ALUMINIUM/ALLOY OR ZINC SPRAYED SURFACES.
MAY BE APPLIED OVER:
Yacht Primer, Interprotect, and most types of
hard antifoulings.
CAN BE OVERCOATED WITH:
Itself and selected other antifoulings.
NEW SURFACES:
TIMBER:
Surfaces must be clean, dry and well sanded. Prime with
either Yacht Primer (single pack ) or Interprotect (two pack ).
EPOXY SHEATHED TIMBER/EPOXY COMPOSITE/POLYESTER GRP:
Ensure all
traces of release agent and/or amine bloom are removed from the
surfaces using Surface Cleaner. Sand to remove gloss. Prime with
Interprotect.
STEEL:
Grit blast to Australian Standard 1627. 4 Class 2.5-3. Prime
with Interprotect.
ALUMINIUM:
Do not use this product.
PROPS AND SHAFTS:
Abrade surfaces well to a bright shiny finish. Apply
PA 10 primer (1-2 coats).
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Refer to primer labels for details of primer application.
Refer to filler labels and/or literature for any filling and fairing
information required.
PREPARATION: PREVIOUSLY ANTIFOULED SURFACES:
Check existing antifouling
may be overcoated with this product. Desalinate by fresh water wash
down. Follow by wet sanding with typically 150-180 grit if the surface
is in sound condition or typically 80 grit if it is in poor condition.
When
the surface is free of old slime/fouling build up, any loose and
flaking
coatings and any other contamination, allow to dry thoroughly. Patch
prime any bare areas as for new work above and then apply new
antifouling.
