TABLET 25MG IS USED FOR
Idaman Pharma Chlorpromazine Tablet 25mg
contains Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride. It is
used in the treatment of a mental disorders and
behavioral disturbances. It is also used for the
short-term
treatment
of
anxiety,
agitation,
excitement and violent or impulsive behavior.
It is used to treat persistent hiccup and nausea
and vomiting associated with terminal illness.
Chlorpromazine

psikotik.
Ia
mampu
mengawal
kegembiraan,
pergolakan,
dan
gangguan
psikomotor lain pada pesakit skizofrenia dan
mengurangkan fasa manik - keadaan depresi.
Ia
digunakan
untuk
mengawal
keadaan
hiperkinetik dan pencerobohan dan kadang-
kadang diberikan dalam keadaan psikiatri lain
untuk mengawal kegelisahan dan ketegangan.
Dalam satu jam dari dos melalui mulut, pesakit
menjadi
apatis,
mengantuk
dan
kadang-
kadang euforia.
Chlorpromazine
bersifat
anti-emetik
dan
digunakan untuk mengawal mual dan muntah
dari pelbagai penyakit dan yang disebabkan
oleh
pelbagai
ubat.
Sifat
sedatif
dan
anti-
emetik
chlorpromazine
berguna
dalam
rawatan
ketergantungan
ubat.
Mual
dan
muntah
selepas
operasi
dikurangkan
oleh
chlorpromazine.
Oleh kerana keperluan analgesik dikurangkan
oleh
chlorpromazine,
ia
digunakan
sebagai
tambahan dalam pengurusan kesakitan yang
teruk, terutama pada penyakit ganas.

Summary of Product characteristics

It is advised to keep an adequate maternal psychic balance during
pregnancy in order to avoid
decompensation. If a treatment is necessary to ensure this balance,
the treatment should be started
or continued at effective dose all through the pregnancy.
Neonates exposed to antipsychotics (including chlorpromazine) during
the third trimester of
pregnancy are at risk of adverse reactions including extrapyramidal
and/or withdrawal symptoms
that may vary in severity and duration following delivery. There have
been reports of agitation,
hypertonia, hypotonia, tremor, somnolence, respiratory distress, or
feeding disorder. Consequently,
newborns should be monitored carefully.
Neonates exposed to antipsychotic drugs during the third trimester of
pregnancy are at risk for
extrapyramidal and/or withdrawal symptoms following delivery. There
have been reports of
agitation, hypertonia, hypotonia, tremor, somnolence, respiratory
distress, and feeding disorder in
these neonates. These complications have varied in severity; while in
some cases symptoms have
been self-limited, in other cases neonates have required intensive
care unit support and prolonged
hospitalisation.
Chlorpromazine should be used during pregnancy only if the potential
benefit justifies the potential
risk to the foetus.
LACTATION
Chlorpromazine being excreted in milk, therefore, breast-feeding is
not recommended during
treatment.
FERTILITY
Due to the interaction with dopamine receptors, chlorpromazine may
cause hyperprolactinaemia which
can be associated with impaired fertility in women. In men,
consequences of hyperprolactinaemia with
regard to fertility was unknown.
ADVERSE EFFECTS

may be seen without evidence of clinical disease

particularly at the start of treatment

particularly during long term treatment; may occur after the
neuroleptic is withdrawn and resolve
after reintroduction of treatment or if the dose is increased

in the anterior segment of the eye caused by accumulation of the drug
but generally without any
impact on sight
