[PRODUCT DESCRIPTION]: Almost white granules.
[DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION]: When incorporated at a r ate of below
2kg/tonne of final feed, the product must only be mi xed by a
manufacturer who is approved to mi x at
that level. No dietary control is required before or after treatment.
>Pigs: The product is suitable for herd medication of pigs. The
standard dose rate is 5mg fenbendazole per kg bodyweight. >Routine
treatment-herd medication: May be
administered to pigs either as a single dose or by divided dosage over
7 days . It may also be administered to sows over 14 days . All
methods of treatment are equally effective.
To avoid underdosing, all incorporation rate cal culations should be
bas ed on the heavi est pig in the group. >Treatment for specific
infecti ons: For the treatment of
_Metastrongylus apri_ (lungworm) and/or _Trichuris suis_, it is rec
ommended that the dosage is divided and administered over 7 days for
most effective treatment. >Suggested
dosing programmes for pigs: - Sows and boars: Treat sows before
entering farrowing accommodation and again after weaning. This will
maintain the sow’s condition and
reduce the risk of infection to her piglets. Boars should be treated
every 6 months. >Gr owing abd Finishing pigs: Dose w eaner s on
purchase or on m ovem ent to finishing house.
Where there is a high risk of Ascariasis (“Mil k Spot Liver”),
repeat treatment at monthly intervals . Whole herd treatment:
Treatment of the wh ol e herd (all adult and young
stock) simultaneously every 6 m onths will minimize the risk of
reinfestation. This should be carried out routinely unless recommended
otherwise by a veterinary surgeon. It
should also be c ombined with careful attention to environmental
hygiene which i s especiall y important for c ontrol of “Milk Sp ot
Li ver”. >Outdoor pigs: When cl ean grazing is
avail able, dose before moving stock onto it.
