Therapeutic indications:

Following application of the sponge to the surface of the defect or insertion into the surgically created void, the sponge results in rapid haemostasis by concentrating blood platelets and coagulating factors released by surgically/trauma-induced venous or diffuse oozing haemorrhage within the gelatin matrix. The shape and size of the defect determines the sponge configuration most suited to the operative site. An aid to providing haemostasis and obliterating dead space created by the extraction of teeth, root amputations and removal of cysts, tumours and impacted teeth.
