FOR ANIMAL USE ONLY BRAND OR PRODUCT NAME : FOSVET-T Water Soluble Powder NAME AND STRENGTH OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCE(S) Each gram of FOSVET-T Water Soluble Powder contains Fosfomycin Calcium 200mg and Tylosin Tartrate 50mg. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION FOSVET-T Water Soluble Powder is a white or light milky white powder. PHARMACODYNAMICS AND PHARMACOKINETICS PROPERTIES Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic produced by a strain of Streptomyces fradiae. It exerts its antimicrobial effect by inhibiting protein synthesis of susceptible micro-organisms. The tylosin spectrum of activity includes Gram-positive bacteria including Clostridium perfringens and some Gram-negative strains such as Pasteurella and Mycoplasma spp. at concentrations of 16µg/ml or less. Absorption: Tylosin reaches maximal blood levels between 1 and 3 hours after an oral dose. Minimal or no blood levels remain 24 hours after an oral dose. Distribution: After oral doses were given to pigs, tylosin was found in all tissues, between 30 minutes and two hours after administration, except for the brain and spinal cord. Biotransformation and Elimination: It has been shown that most of the material which is excreted is to be found in the faeces and consists of tylosin (factor A), relomycin (factor D) and dihydrodesmycosin. Fosfomycin is a phosphoenol pyruvate analog that irreversibly inhibits pyruvyl transferase, the enzyme that catalyzing the first step of peptidoglycan biosynethesis. Fosfomycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic produced by various Streptomyces spp. It is effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative. It is particularly active against many Enterobacteriaceae, including E.coli and also is active against Pasteurella, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus. After PO administration, absorption of fosfomycin occurs throughout the digestive tract. Fosfomycin has no metabolic transformation and is excreted in active form mostly through renal elimination. INDICATION For use in poultry (broilers; light and heavy breeders) in the treatment of bacterial infections cau Read the complete document
