GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
FORTUNE is a foliar applied plant regulator which modifies
the cotton plant by regulating its growth pattern and
behaviour. FORTUNE may produce one or more of the
following effects in cotton: darker leaf colour, reduction of
internodal length, more open canopy, better boll retention,
earlier maturity. Some of these may favourably influence the
yield potential of the cotton plant.
APPLICATION
FORTUNE is best applied as split-application "Multiple Low
Rates" rather than a single application. The first spray should
be applied early (early squaring) and repeated as suggested
in the Directions for Use Table.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
FORTUNE may be applied by air or ground. Best results can
be obtained with total spray volumes of at least 50 L/ha for
aerial application and 150 to 200 L/ha for ground
application.
MIXING
FORTUNE has an aqueous base and mixes readily with water.
Add the required amount of FORTUNE to the partly filled
spray tank and agitate to give even mixing.
COMPATIBILITY
FORTUNE has been found to be compatible with emulsifiable
concentrate (EC) formulations of the following insecticides:
endosulfan, permethrin, deltamethrin, fenvalerate and
methomyl. Care should be taken that there is no conflict in
application techniques between FORTUNE and the
insecticide when applying products together. DO NOT tank-
mix with foliar fertilisers, as the benefits from such mixes
have not been established.
PRECAUTION
LODGING
Under strong winds FORTUNE-treated cotton that has set
bolls packed tightly together against the stem may be more
susceptible to lodging.
RE-ENTRY PERIOD
DO NOT allow entry into treated areas until the spray
deposits have dried. When prior entry is necessary, wear
cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist and elbow-
length PVC glove
