FLUIMUCIL® A 600mg contains the active ingredient Acetylcysteine that belongs to a group of medicines called mucolytics. FLUIMUCIL® A 600mg acts by quickly breaking down mucus that obstructs the airways and causes coughing. It facilitates the removal of thick mucus to ease congestion in throat and lungs. WHAT IS FLUIMUCIL® A 600MG USED FOR? FLUIMUCIL® A 600mg is used as a mucolytic agent in respiratory conditions associated with excessive mucus production. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING FLUIMUCIL® A 600MG Do not take FLUIMUCIL® A 600mg if you are allergic to Acetylcysteine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. FLUIMUCIL® A 600mg contains aspartame, thus it is contraindicated in patients suffering from phenylketonuria. FLUIMUCIL® A 600mg is not intended for use in children between 2 and 6 years of age. Other dosage and pharmaceutical form of this medicine are available and more suitable in this group of patients. HOW DO I TAKE FLUIMUCIL® A 600MG? Adults and children above 6 years 1 effervescent tablet of FLUIMUCIL® A 600 mg once a day Dissolve the tablet in a glass containing a small quantity of water, mixing it, if necessary, with a spoon. A palatable solution is thus obtained to be drunk immediately It is preferable not to mix other drugs with the FLUIMUCIL® A 600mg solution. It is advisable to administer antibiotics 2 hours apart from Acetylcysteine. The duration of treatment should be 5 to 10 days. if you do not feel better or if you feel worse, you must talk to a doctor WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS Mucolytic agents can induce respiratory obstruction in children under 2 years of age. Due to the physiological characteristics of the airways in this age group, the ability to expectorate may be limited.
