EXFORGE HCT
®
WHAT EXFORGE HCT IS AND WHAT IT IS
USED FOR
Your medicine is called Exforge HCT and
is available as a film-coated tablet in dif-
ferent strengths.
Exforge HCT contains three active sub-
stances: amlodipine, a calcium antago-
nist, valsartan, an angiotensin II recep-
tor antagonist and hydrochlorothiazide
(HCT), a substance that increases urine
output (diuretic). These three substanc-
es work in different ways to lower your
blood pressure.
Exforge HCT is used to treat high blood
pressure:
• In patients whose blood pressure can-
not be sufficiently lowered by treat-
ment with two active substances
• In patients who already receive the
three active substances amlodipine,
valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide, but
as separate tablets.
Exforge HCT must only be used if pre-
scribed by your doctor.
