Ce médicament est un antibactérien intestinal.
INDICATION THÉRAPEUTIQUE
Il est indiqué, en complément de la réhydratation,
dans
le
traitement
de
la
diarrhée
aiguë
d'origine
infectieuse chez l'adulte et l'enfant de plus de 6 ans.
Le traitement ne dispense pas de mesures diététiques
et d’une réhydratation si elle est nécessaire.

QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION

Excipients: sucrose (72 mg/hard capsule), maize starch, magnesium
stearate.
Composition of the hard capsule shell: gelatin, yellow iron oxide
(E172), titanium dioxide (E171).
PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Hard capsules.
CLINICAL PARTICULARS
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS:
Treatment of acute diarrhea assumed to be of bacterial origin,
provided there is no suspicion of
systemic involvement (deterioration of general condition, fever, signs
of toxicity/infection, etc.).
This treatment is not a substitute for dietary measures, and
rehydration if it is required. The extent of
rehydration, using an oral or intravenous rehydration solution, should
be adjusted based on the
severity of diarrhea, patient age and other patient characteristics
(e.g. concomitant diseases).
POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
FOR USE IN ADULTS AND CHILDREN OVER 6 YEARS OF AGE ONLY.
OSAGE:

Adults: 1 hard capsule 4 times daily to be taken as 2 to 4 divided
doses.
The hard capsules should be swallowed with a glass of water.
Treatment should not exceed 3 days.
ETHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:

Oral use.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to nitrofuran derivatives or any of the other
ingredients.
SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:
WARNINGS:
In children under 2 years of age, rehydration is the key treatment of
acute diarrhea. Beyond that age,
ehydration should be systematically considered.
If diarrhea persists after three days of administration, the
therapeutic approach will need to be re-
valuated and the need for oral rehydration or intravenous fluids
should be considered.

In patients who have infectious diarrhea with clinical signs
suggestive of systemic involvement,
ntibacterial agents with good systemic distribution should be used.
