POLES WITH A CIRCUMFERENCE OF UP TO 950 MM: 1.1 Drill 3 equally spaced abaxial holes of 16 mm in diameter at an angle of about 20° to the vertical into each pole. 1.2 Start drilling at 150 mm above the ground line, extending to a depth of 300 mm below the ground line. 1.3 Insert 3 Eco Rods into each hole and seal with a tapered plastic plug, i.e. a total of 9 rods per pole. 2. POLES WITH A CIRCUMFERENCE OF GREATER THAN 950 MM: 2.1 Drill 4 equally spaced abaxial holes following the same procedure as described above. (See steps 1.1 and 1.2). 2.2 Insert 3 Eco Rods into each hole and seal with a tapered plastic plug, i.e. a total of 12 rods per pole. COMPOSITION / INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS ECO ROD Supplementary Pole Preservative contains disodium octaborate tetrahydrate as active ingredient. CHEMICAL NATURE AND USE: A solid diffusible boron-based wood preserving rod for remedial and supplementary treatment that protects the internal portion of treated wooden poles and timber structures in service against fungal decay. The ECO ROD Supplementary Pole Preservative is formulated to penetrate heartwood and sapwood of timber by means of diffusion. Moisture levels over 20 percent in wood where the chemical rods have been inserted will start the diffusion process. The treatment controls and provides supplementery protection against internal fungal decay. The boron-based active ingredient is effective to use, environmentally acceptable and is an internationally recognised wood preservative.
