It is ovicidal against nematode eggs and delays egg laying in trematodes (fluke). Oxfendazole is effective against all the economically important gastrointestinal roundworms of sheep including inhibited and arrested larvae of _Ostertagia_ spp, it is effective against benzimidazole susceptible _Haemonchus_ spp and _Ostertagia_ spp. Closantel is effective against mature and immature fluke over 6 weeks (_Fasciola _ _hepatica_), haematophagous nematodes (_Haemonchus contortus_ including benzimidazole resistant strains, _Chabertia ovina_ and _Gaigeric pachyscelis_) and larval stages of some arthropods including _oestrus ovis_ (sheep nasal bot fly larvae). In known fluke areas, parasitic infestations will generally be mixed involving nematodes, trematodes and occasionally cestodes. Treatment with the oxfendazole/closantel combination will be of particular benefit in reducing parasite burden in such areas. Duotech is recommended for the treatment and control of the following: Gastrointestinal roundworms: _Ostertagia_ spp, _Trichostrongylus axei_, _Nematodirus_ (including _N_. _battus_), _Cooperia_ spp, intestinal _Trichostrongylus, Oesophagostomum_ spp, _Chabertia_ spp, _Haemonchus_ spp, inhibited, immature and adult stages of _H. _ _contortus_ (Barber Pole Worm) including benzimidazole resistant strains.
