_Doxy-Denk 100_ Tablets – oral use Antibiotic Active ingredient: doxycycline INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Please read carefully. Read this entire leaflet carefully before you start taking this medicine. – Keep this package leaflet. You may like to read it again later. – If you have further questions, please ask your doctor or your pharmacist. – This medicine has been prescribed for you personally and should not be passed on to others. It may harm other people, even if their symptoms are the same as yours. ACTIVE INGREDIENTS 1 tablet contains 115.4 mg doxycycline hyclate, equivalent to 100 mg doxycycline. OTHER INGREDIENTS Sodium starch glycolate, maize starch, hydrogenated castor oil, lactose monohydrate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, micro- crystalline cellulose. WHAT IS _DOXY-DENK 100_ AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR? _Doxy-Denk 100_ is a broad-spectrum antibiotic and belongs to the group of antibiotics known as tetracyclines. _DOXY-DENK 100_ is used in: – Infections of the respiratory tract and ears, nose and throat: – acute attacks of chronic bronchitis, – infections of the nasal sinuses (sinusitis), – tympanitis (otitis media), – certain types of lung infections (pneumonia) caused by Mycoplas- ma, Rickettsia or Chlamydia. – Urogenital infections: – inflammation of the urethra (urethritis) caused by Chlamydia and Ureaplasma urealyticum, – inflammation of the prostate gland (prostatitis), – uncomplicated gonorrhoea (the clap, particularly in the presence of Chlamydia infections), – infections of the female sex organs, – syphilis in patients who are allergic to penicillin, – urinary tract infections (only if proven susceptibility of the patho - gen). – Gastrointestinal infections: – cholera, – infections caused by Campylobacter or Yersinia, – Shigella infection with proven susceptibility. – Outpatient therapy of infections of the biliary tract. – Skin disease, including infected severe forms of common acne and rosacea. – Conjunctivitis (chlamydia conjunctivitis) a Read the complete document

CLINICAL PARTICULARS 4.1 THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS Doxycycline in indicated for the treatment of infections caused by pathogens that are susceptible to doxycycline, particularly for the following: Infections of the respiratory tract and ears, nose and throat: acute attacks of chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, otitis media, pneumonia caused by _Mycoplasma_, _Rickettsia_ or _Chlamydia_.
