THERAPEUTISCHE INDICATIES
GEBRUIK IN DE ANESTHESIE
Als licht anaestheticum kan het alleen in de ambulante anesthesie
worden gebruikt voor kleine
chirurgische ingrepen.
Meestal wordt het gebruikt in combinatie met :
- lokale of locoregionale anesthetica;
- gefluorideerde anesthetica;
- barbituraten en / of morfinomimetica en / of curare
Door de combinatie met distikstofoxide kan men de doses vluchtige en /
of intraveneuze stoffen
verlagen en hun toxiciteit verminderen; zo verkrijgt men de juiste
graad van bewusteloosheid en
amnesie die nodig is tijdens de chirurgische ingreep.
GEBRUIK IN DE ANALGESIE
In combinatie met zuurstof bereikt men een goed niveau van analgesie
en anxiolyse, terwijl de
patiënt voldoende bewust en gevoelig blijft;
- in de verloskunde tijdens de wee op het moment van de contracties;
- in de tandheelkunde
- bij eerste hulp, traumatologie, brandwonden, myocardischemie;
- kleine chirurgie;
- pijnbestrijding;
- pijnlijke functionele exploraties.

DOSERING
Distikstofoxide, als analgeticum, in een equimolair mengsel met
zuurstof (50% v/v distikstofoxide en
50% v/v zuurstof), mag niet langer dan 1uur aaneengesloten worden
toegediend en mag niet vaker
dan op 15 opeenvolgende dagen worden herhaald.
Voor het verkrijgen van anesthesie fungeert distikstofoxide als
basis-anestheticum. Distikstofoxide,
met een maximaal toegestane concentratie van 79% v/v alleen kan geen
anes
