Critically important antibiotic
PRESENTATION
A suspension for injection containing 25 MG/ML CEFQUINOME (AS
SULPHATE), presented as 100
mL vials.
INDICATIONS
_In vitro_, cefquinome has antibiotic activity against common bacteria
including
Gram-positive: _Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus dysgalactiae,
Streptococcus uberis, _
_Corynebacterium pyogenes. _
Gram-negative: _Salmonella _spp., _Esherichia coli, Actinobacillus
pleuropneumoniae, Haemophilus _
spp., _Pasteurella_ spp.,_ Klebsiella _spp., _Proteus mirabilis_.
CATTLE
1. Respiratory disease caused by _Pasteurella multocida _and
_Mannheimia_ (_Pasteurella_)
_haemolytica._
2. Digital dermatitis, infectious bulbar necrosis and acute
interdigital necro-bacillosis (foul in the
foot).
3. Acute _Escherichia coli _mastitis with signs of systemic
involvement.
PIGS
1. For the treatment of bacterial infections of the lungs and
respiratory tract caused by _Pasteurella_
_multocida, Haemophilus parasuis, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae,
Streptococcus suis _and
other cefquinome-sensitive organisms.
2. Mastitis-Metritis-Agalactia syndrome (MMA) with involvement of _E.
coli, Staphylococcus _spp.,
_Streptococcus _spp.,_ Corynebacterium _spp. and other
cefquinome-sensitive organisms.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
CATTLE: 1 mg Cefquinome/kg body weight (provided by 2 mL/50 kg body
weight) by intramuscular
injection. Administer one injection per day for 3-5 consecutive days.
Acute _E. coli _
mastitis, administer one injection per day for 2 consecutive days.
PIGS:
RESPIRATORY DISEASE: 1-2 mg Cefquinome/kg body weight (provided by 1-2
mL/25 kg
body weight) by intramuscular injection. Administer one injection per
day for 3
consecutive days.
MASTITIS-METRITIS-AGALACTIA SYNDROME (MMA): 2 mg Cefquinome/kg body
weight
