Altex Yacht & Boat Coastal Copper antifouling is compatible with a wide range of anticorrosive and antifouling paints. Its use over products other than Altex Yacht & Boat Bottom Systems should be referred to Resene Paints (Australia) Limited for specific recommendations. If Altex Yacht & Boat Coastal Copper antifouling is applied over an epoxy hull coating, it must be applied before the epoxy has fully cured hard, ie when the epoxy is tack free but still soft to finger nail pressure. For the repainting of existing antifouling and to facilitate bottom cleaning we recommend high pressure water blast cleaning (5000 psi minimum) and wash with ALTEX P40 Pre-Painting Cleaner diluted 1 part to 10 parts water. It is recommended that after 3-4 repaints that the old antifouling coatings be removed and then repaint the hull with Altex Yacht & Boat Bottom System and Altex Yacht & Boat Coastal Copper antifouling as above. MIXING AND THINNING: Stir thoroughly before use. Altex Yacht & Boat Coastal Copper antifouling does not require thinning, except possibly in hot windy conditions. If thinned, additional coats may be required to attain correct film thickness. Film thickness is critical to the performance of the coating. APPLICATION: Apply two coats to achieve a minimum film thickness of 200 m Read the complete document
