BIOSELENIUM 
(SELENIUM SULPHIDE) 

EXTERNAL TREATMENT OF DANDRUFF, SEBORRHEIC DERMATITIS AND PITYRIASIS VERSICOLOR. 
SPECIALLY INDICATED FOR DRY SKIN AND SCALP. 

BIOSELENIUM  is  a  cutaneous  suspension  of  selenium  sulphide  for  the  treatment  of 
dandruff seborrheic dermatitis of the skin and the scalp. 
It suppresses the symptom profile within a period of one to four weeks, eliminates ordinary 
dandruff and soothes stinging and itching.  It is also the treatment of choice for pityriasis 
versicolor, a contagious disease of the skin characterized by the presence of well-defined 
spots of pink, yellow or brown colour, primarily located on thorax, back and arms. 

COMPOSITION 

100 ml of suspension contain: 2.5 g of selenium sulphide. 
Excipients: Lactic acid; benzyl alcohol; cocamide DEA; polividone K-30; 
methylcellulose 300 cPs; perfume; TEA-lauryl sulfate; magnesium aluminium silicate; 
purified water. 

INDICATIONS 

Dandruff,  seborrheic  dermatitis,  _pityriasis  versicolor_  .  BIOSELENIUM  is  specially 
indicated for dry skin and scalp.

METHOD OF USE IN DANDRUFF AND SEBORRHEIC DERMATITIS  

1. Shake the bottle of BIOSELENIUM thoroughly, pour a quantity equivalent to one or 
two teaspoonfuls into the hollow of your hand, and apply to the area to be treated (skin 
or scalp) with a gentle massaging action, adding a little lukewarm water, which speeds 
the formation of foam and spreads the medicament better. 
2. Allow the medicament to act for at least five minutes. 
3. Rinse with abundant quantities of water until the medicament has been completely 
removed. 
4. Repeat the application at least during the first few weeks. For quick effect,

4.1  THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS 

BIOSELENIUM is indicated in the topical treatment
of seborrheic dermatitis, _pityriasis versicolor_ . 
It is specially indicated for dry skin and scalp.

4.2  POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION 

Cutaneous use. 

- Method of use on seborrheic dermatitis: 
1. Shake the bottle of BIOSELENIUM thoroughly, pour a
quantity equivalent to one or two

apply to the area to be treated (skin or scalp) with a 
gentle massaging action, adding a little lukewarm water, which

and once a week 
thereafter. 
- Method of use on _pityriasis versicolor_ ( either of the
following two methods may be used) 
1. Apply BIOSELENIUM to the affected skin as if
washing, allowing the medicament for ten to 
twenty minutes. Rinse with water. Repeat these procedure for two
consecutive days. 
2. Or apply BIOSELENIUM to the affected
area at night. Take a shower the next morning and repeat 
the treatment after seven days. 

4.3 CONTRAINDICATIONS 

BIOSELENIUM is contraindicated in individuals with known
hypersensitivity to the drug or any
