sterilisation by
irradiation.
Thus
the bait product (i)
if
not taken
by
mice may germinate
and
give
rise
to
viable volunteer
wheat plants, (ii) may carry fungal diseases and (iii) may contain
weed
seeds.
If
the presence
of
disease,
weed
seeds
or
volunteers plants affects crop value
it
is
recommended
that
fully sterilised bait products
are
used.
