containing potassium
chloride, sodium chloride and
glucose in water for
injections. It is used for
replenishing fluid losses,
restoration or maintenance of
electrolytes (such as sodium,
potassium, chloride) in the
body, and as a source of
energy.

QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION
Baxter Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride and Glucose Intravenous
(IV) Infusions are
sterile, nonpyrogenic solutions and are for single use in one patient
on one occasion only. They
do not contain an antimicrobial agent or added buffer and have a pH of
3.5 - 6.5. They can be
either isotonic or hypertonic solutions as reflected by their
osmolarities (calculated). The
concentrations of the active ingredients in water for injections and
their osmolarities are shown
in Table 1 below.
