In some species, excitement may occur during induction.
Terminal gasping may occur following use of the product.
Dosage and
Administration:
Administer by intravenous injection.
DOSE: 1-2 mL per 5 kg bodyweight. RLP APPROVED
General Directions:
The product is irritant and painful when injected extravascularly.
The product may be administered via the intracardiac or
intraperitoneal route. However, this
may be associated with distress, discomfort and/or a delayed effect.
Sequential use of sedatives, tranquillizers and/or local anaesthetics
should be considered
to prevent and/or ameliorate undesirable effects.
Premedication with a suitable sedative is recommended in horses and
cattle.
For euthanasia of pregnant animals – allow for increased BW. Wait at
least 25 minutes
before accessing the foetus and euthanise separately if necessary.
Poikilotherms must be maintained at optimum temperature to ensure
effectiveness.
Species-appropriate measures, e.g. pithing or freezing, should be
taken after
unconsciousness to prevent spontaneous recovery.
