WHAT AIN ChlorAL IS USED FOR
AIN ChlorAL
is a cutaneous solution with
a combination of Isopropyl Alcohol 75%
v/v and Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.5%
w/v
used
to
help
reduce
bacteria
and
viruses
that
potentially
can
cause
disease. For use when soap and water are
not available.
HOW AIN ChlorAL WORKS
AIN ChlorAL
is an agent to kill bacteria
and viruses upon contact. It is used to
prevent
infection
by
destroying
microorganisms
on
skin
that
cause
infection.
BEFORE YOU USE AIN ChlorAL
When you must not use it
Do
not
take
AIN
ChlorAL
if
you
are
allergic (hypersensitive) to chlorhexidine
gluconate, isopropyl alcohol or to any of
the other ingredients listed in the Product
Description section.
Before you start to use it
AIN ChlorAL
is for external use only.
Not for injection.
Alcohol
should
not
be
brought
into
contact with some vaccines and skin test
injections
(patch
tests).
If
in
doubt,
consult
the
vaccine
manufacturers
literature.
AIN ChlorAL
should only be applied to
the skin gently. When the solution has
been applied in an over vigorous manner
to very fragile or sensitive skin or after
repeated use, rash, inflammation, itching,
dry
and/or
flaky
skin
and
pain
may
occur. At the first sign of any of these
reactions, applications of
AIN ChlorAL
should be stopped
.
Pregnancy and lactation
AIN ChlorAL
is safe during pregnancy as
well as breast feeding.
Taking other medicines
Tell your doctor or nurse if you have
recently
had
a
vaccine
or
skin
test
injection
(patch
test
used
to
test
for
allergies).
Chlorhexidine
salts
are
incompatible

AN�SEP�C CUTANEOUS SOLU�ON
COMPOSITON:
The Solu�on Contains:
Isopropyl Alcohol 75% v/v
Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.5% w/v
PRODUCT DESCRIP�ON:
Pink clear solu�on.
PHARMACODYNAMICS:
Bisbiguanide an�sep�cs exert their lethal effect upon bacterial
cells through non-specific interac�on
with acidic phospholipids of the cell membranes. Since there is
li�le percutaneous absorp�on of
isopropyl alcohol or chlorhexidine gluconate, pharmacodynamic studies
have not been undertaken.
PHARMACOKINE�CS:
There is li�le absorp�on of isopropyl alcohol or of chlorhexidine
gluconate through intact skin.
Pharmacokine�c studies have not been conducted with the product.
INDICA�ON:
To be used undiluted for hand and skin disinfectant.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE:
Wet the hands with sufficient amount of
AIN ChlorAL
solu�on and rub gently the affected area for
about 30 seconds and proceed un�l the hands are dry.
METHOD OF ADMINISTRA�ON: TOPICAL
CONTRAINDICA�ONS:
The medicinal product is contraindicated where pa�ents have shown
previous hypersensi�vity to
chlorhexidine or isopropyl alcohol.
WARNING AND PRECAU�ONS:
The solu�on is an irritant to eyes and mucous membrane. Keep the
solu�on away from these areas.
Wash promptly and thoroughly with water if the solu�on comes in
contact with the eyes. Do not use on
open skin wound, broken or damage skin, for lumbar puncture or in
children less than 2 months of age.
Avoid prolonged skin contact as the solu�on is alcoholic solu�ons.
Allergic or irrita�on skin reac�ons
with chlorhexidine is rarely reported.
Do not use with electrocautery procedures un�l dry. Remove any
soaked materials, drapes or gowns
before proceeding.
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Flammable, keep away from fire or flame. Do
not use with igni�on source (e.g.,
cautery, laser), avoid ge�ng solu�on into hairy areas. Wet hair is
