EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE
This medicine suppresses the proliferation of herpes simplex and
varicella/herpes zoster
viruses.
It is usually used to suppress the onset of herpes simplex, herpes
simplex virus infection
(herpes simplex) associated with hematopoietic stem cell
transplantation, or to suppress the
recurrence of herpes zoster, varicella or genital herpes.
THE FOLLOWING PATIENTS MAY NEED TO BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS
MEDICINE.BE SURE TO TELL YOUR DOCTOR
AND PHARMACIST.
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch,
rash, etc.) to any medicines
or foods.
If you have renal or liver disorder.
・If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may
interact to enhance or
diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and
dietary supplements
as well as other prescription medicines.)

・For herpes simplex: In general, for adults, take 0.5 g (200 mg of
the active ingredient) at a
time, 5 times a day. For children, take 0.05 g (20 mg) per kilogram of
the body weight at a
time, 4 times a day. However, the maximum single dose is 0.5 g (200
mg).
