1.WHAT UROBASE IS USED FOR
Urobase is indicated for the relief of the
symptoms of cystitis in women.
2.HOW UROBASE WORKS
Urobase works to increase the pH in the
urinary system. Therefore, making your
urine less acidic. The actual dissolution
of uric acid stones may be achieved by
maintaining an alkaline urine.
3.BEFORE YOU USE UROBASE
_-When you must not use it _
Patient with diabetes, heart disease,
hypertension, history of renal disease or
those who on a low salt diet.
Talk with your doctor if you are unsure
if Urobase is right for you.
_-Pregnancy and lactation _
Contraindicated during pregnancy and
lactation.
_-Before you start using it _
Tell your doctor before you start to take
this medicine:

If you have any kidney problems.

If you have heart problems.

If you are on a low sodium diet.

If you have diabetes or/and
hypertension

any other medicines, including
any that you buy from pharmacy,
supermarket or health food shop
without a prescription. 4.HOW TO USE UROBASE
_-How much to use _
One sachet to be taken three times daily.
Dissolve the contents of one sachet
(4.1g) with 125 ml (half glass) of water.
Stir well and drink immediately.
_-When to use it _
Use as directed by your doctor or
pharmacist.
_How long to use it _
Continue use of this drug for a
period of time prescribed by your
doctor.
_-If you forget to use _
Take the missed dose as soon as you
remember. If it is almost time for
your next dose, wait until then to
take the medicine and skip the missed
dose. Do not take a double dose to make
up for missed one.

BASE SACHET 4G FOR ORAL SOLUTION
Each sachet contains sodium citrate dihydrate 4g. Sugar free.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
White to off white granules to be dissolved in water to give a clear
solution.
PHARMACODYNAMICS
Sodium citrate is metabolized to bicarbonates which increases the
excretion of free bicarbonate ions, thus increasing
urinary pH. A rise in urinary pH increases the solubility of cystine
in the urine and the ionization of uric acid to more
soluble urate ion. The actual dissolution of uric acid stones may be
achieved by maintaining an alkaline urine.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Sodium citrate is excreted through urine.
INDICATION
For the relief of the symptoms of cystitis in women.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
One sachet to be taken three times daily or as per prescribe. Dissolve
the contents of one sachet (4g) with 125 ml (half
glass) of water. Stir well and drink directly.
MODE OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral solution.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Patient with diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, history of renal
disease or those who on a low salt diet.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
If symptoms persist after two days course of treatment is completed,
medical attention should be sought.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
Keep out of reach of children.
INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEDICAMENTS
Sodium containing preparations should be avoided by patients on
lithium because sodium is preferentially absorbed
by the kidney resulting in increased lithium excretion and reduced
plasma levels.
Urinary alkalinisers should not be used with hexamine because it is
only effective in acid urine.
The effects of number of drugs may be reduced or increased by the
alkalinisination of the urine and reduction in
gastric pH brought by the active ingredients in the product.
STATEMENT ON USAGE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
ADVERSE EFFECTS / UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
Mild diuresis.
OVERDOSE AND TREATMENT
In the unlikely event of over-dosage occurring with this product,
treatment should be symptomatic.
Excessive administration of sodium c
