1.WHAT
POLTECHRBC
IS
AND
WHAT
IT
IS
USED
FOR
This medicine is a radiopharmaceutical product for diagnostic use
only.
PoltechRBC is used for:
Blood pool scintigraphy with labelled red blood cells, which is useful
for:
•
scintigraphy to assess:
- cardiac ventricles ejection fraction,
- regional and global cardiac walls motion.
•
imaging of perfusion of organs and vascular malformations,
•
diagnosis and localisation of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Assessment of blood volume.
Spleen scintigraphy.
The use of PoltechRBC does involve exposure to small amounts of
radioactivity. Your doctor has
considered that the clinical benefit that you will obtain from the
procedure with the
radiopharmaceutical outweights the risk due to ionising radiation.
2.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE POLTECHRBC IS USED
POLTECHRBC MUST NOT BE USED
PoltechRBC must not be used if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to
the active substance or any of the
other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Inform the nuclear medicine doctor who is supervising the examination
in the following cases:
- if you are pregnant or believe you may be pregnant,
- if you are breast-feeding,
- if you are under 18 years old.
