MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS: 250 mg neomycin (as neomycin sulfate, 357 mg),
2000 mg sulfamethazine, 38 mg potassium acetate, 11 mg magnesium
chloride hexahydrate, 11 mg calcium chloride dihydrate, 209 mg sodium
chloride and 229 mg sodium acetate trihydrate, per bolus.
INDICATIONS: As an aid in the treatment of bacterial enteritis,
bacterial
respiratory tract infections and coccidiosis in calves, and bacterial
enteritis
in foals, caused by microorganisms susceptible to neomycin and/or
sulfamethazine.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: _To reduce the development of antimicrobial
_
_resistance and maintain effectiveness, use this antibiotic prudently
and for the _
_shortest duration required to achieve the desired clinical outcome._
Administer
orally with the aid of a balling gun, 2 bolus per 50 kg of body weight
twice
daily the first day, and 1 bolus per 50 kg of body weight twice daily
for the
next 2 to 3 days.
WARNINGS: Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for
at
least 30 days after the latest treatment with this drug. Sulfonamides
can
cause allergic reactions in sensitized individuals. When handling the
product, avoid inhalation, oral exposure and direct contact with skin
or
eyes. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
CAUTIONS: Severely dehydrated animals should not be treated with this
drug. To maintain adequate hydration and ensure adequate urine flow,
water should be readily available to animals receiving this drug. Do
not
administer for more than 4 consecutive days.
STORAGE: Store in a dry place between 15 and 30
o
C.
Keep lid tightly closed when not in use.
