WHAT BLEO-CELL ® IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR BLEO-cell ® is a medicine used for treating cancers. BLEO-cell ® is used to treat: certain types of cancer of the head and neck, cervix (neck of the womb) or external genitals certain types of lymph node cancer (such as Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma) testicular cancer fluid accumulation in the lungs caused by cancer. BLEO-cell ® is nearly always used in combination with other cancer medicines. 2. BEFORE YOU USE BLEO-CELL ® DO NOT USE BLEO-CELL ® if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to bleomycin sulphate if you have experienced certain side effects concerning the lung that (may) have been caused by bleomycin sulphate whilst breast-feeding (see section “Pregnancy and breast-feeding”) if you have acute pneumonia or severely impaired lung function if you have a certain hereditary disorder that causes problems with co-ordination (e.g. unco- ordinated gait as if drunk) and rapid, rhythmic eye movements, and that is associated with widening of the smallest blood vessels (capillaries) and increased susceptibility to respiratory infections (ataxia telangiectasia syndrome).
