STATEMENT OF ACTIVE AND OTHER SUBSTANCES
1 g of product_ _contains:
ACTIVE SUBSTANCE Colistin sulfate 120.0 mg
EXCIPIENTS Polyglycol 400 (Macrogol 400)
Liquid paraffin
Anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide
Hazelnut

INDICATION(S)
Treatment and metaphylaxis of enteric infections caused by
non-invasive E. coli
susceptible to colistin.
The presence of the disease in the herd should be established before
metaphylactic
treatment.
5.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in case of known hypersensitivity to colistin or to any of
the other
excipients. The gastrointestinal absorption of colistin sulfate is
low; nevertheless the
use of the product in patients with signs of renal failure should be
avoided.
Do not use in horses, particularly in foals, since colistin, due to a
shift in the
gastrointestinal microflora balance could lead to the development of
antimicrobial
associated colitis (Colitis X), typically associated with _Clostridium
difficile_, which may
be fatal.
6.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Oral administration at prolonged doses and / or excessive, may
