                                Cyanara50 Cyanide Paste must be under the control of an Approved
Handler and applied by a
person holding a Controlled Substance Licence.
Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the substance does not cause
any significant adverse
effects to the environment beyond the application area. Do not apply
directly into or onto
water.
WARNING:
Can be fatal if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin.
Product generates highly
t
oxic hydrogen cyanide gas on contact with acids. Eye irritant. Causes
a mild skin irritation
and may cause an allergic skin reaction. Suspected of damaging
fertility or the unborn child.
Causes damage to organs. Very toxic to fish, in soil environment, to
terrestrial vertebrates and
terrestrial invertebrates.
PRECAUTIONS:
Store in closed original container in a cold dry place away from
foodstuffs and under lock
and k
ey. Use only outdoors or in well ventilated area. Do not get in eyes,
on skin and or on
clothing. Wear washable overalls and PVC or rubber gloves when
applying baits. Wash hands
and exposed skin thoroughly after handling and before eating, smoking
or rest breaks. A
cyanide emergency kit should be available on the premises where
Cyanara50 paste is stored
and persons should be trained in the correct procedures for first aid
and resuscitation. Avoid
release to environment.
SYMPTONS OF POISONING:
Can Include dizziness, rapid breathing, headache, drowsiness, rapid
pulse, and convulsions.
Skin cont
aminated with cyanide will feel slimy and cold
FIRST AID:
If exposed or concerned, get medical advice. For advice, contact
National Poisons Centre,
0800 POISON (08
00 764 766). If person feels unwell or symptoms develop, get immediate
medical attention. If ingested, or suspected inhalation of cyanide
gas, remove to fresh air, keep
warm and at rest. CALL AN AMBULANCE, DIAL 111. Have the victim rinse
mouth thoroughly
with water and do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs naturally,
rinse mouth and repeat
administering water. If Cyanara50 comes in contact with skin, remove
contaminated clot
