IDENTIFICATION 

CAPD/DPCA Solutions are solutions for Continual Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis or 
CAPD.  CAPD/DPCA Solutions are packed in bags of various volumes ( 1000 mL, 
1500 mL, 2000 mL, 2500 mL, 5000 mL).  Each litre contains the following active 
ingredients:

Other ingredients are present to adjust the conditions of the solution – hydrochloric 
acid and sodium hydroxide. 

WHAT ARE CAPD /DPCA SOLUTIONS USED FOR? 

CAPD/DPCA Solutions are for a process called peritoneal dialysis. You may require 
this procedure if you have poor kidney function as it helps with the removal of waste 
products and fluid from the blood. 

BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT 

CAPD/DPCA 10, 11 and 12 Solutions should not be used if you have low levels of 
potassium or calcium (your doctor will determine this for you). 

CAPD/DPCA Solutions must be used with caution in the following situations: 
•
  You are pregnant or breast-feeding 
•
  You have had any recent abdominal trauma ie surgery, injury, tumour or infection 
•
  You have a hernia 
•
  You have a lung disease, especially pneumonia 
•
  You have had recent severe weig
