SUMMARY OF PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS 1 NAME OF THE VETERINARY MEDICINAL PRODUCT Betamox 200 mg Palatable Tablets 2 QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION Each 0.687 g tablet contains: Amoxicillin trihydrate 229.66 mg which is equivalent to 200.00 mg amoxicillin. For a full list of excipients see section 6.1. 3 PHARMACEUTICAL FORM Tablet. An off white round tablet scored on one face. 4 CLINICAL PARTICULARS 4.1 TARGET SPECIES Dogs 4.2 INDICATIONS FOR USE, SPECIFYING THE TARGET SPECIES For the treatment of infections caused by a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria found in dogs including: _Bacillus cereus_ _Bordetella bronchiseptica_ Corynebacterium spp. Chromobacter spp. _Citrobacter freundii_ Flavobacter spp. _Proteus mirabilis_ Pasteurella spp. including _Pasteurella multicoda_ Salmonella spp. Staphylococci (penicillin sensitive strains. Streptococci, Effect has been observed against some strains of _Escherichia coli_. Betamox 200 mg Palatable tablets are suitable for the control of infections caused by susceptible organisms including: Infections of the alimentary tract, respiratory tract, urogenital tract, eye and ear infections, and skin and wound infections. As with other penicillins, amoxycillin should not be used orally or parenterally in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or gerbils.
