The AxSYM Amphetamine/Methamphetamine II assay is a semiquantitative reagent system for the detection of amphetamine and methamphetamine in human urine. Measurements obtained aid in the diagnosis and treatment of amphetamine and/or methamphetamine use or abuse. The AxSYM Amphetamine/Methamphetamine II assay provides only a preliminary analytical test result. A more specific alternate chemical method must be used in order to obtain a confirmed analytical result. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is the preferred confirmatory method.1 Clinical considerations and professional judgement should be applied to any drug of abuse test result, particularly when preliminary positive results are used.
